Washington, D.C. — Last Friday, the Senate confirmed Chris Lu as the U.S. Representative to the United Nations for Management and Reform. In this role, Mr. Lu will focus on ensuring that UN programs are properly managed, which is a key priority for the U.S. since we are the largest contributor to the UN budget. Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC) Chair Rep. Judy Chu (CA-27) issued the following statement:

“I am thrilled that Chris Lu has been confirmed as the U.S. Representative to the United Nations for Management and Reform. His decades of public service at the highest levels of government and his expertise in managing large-scale operations and navigating the complexities of organizations like the UN make him incredibly well-qualified for this position.

“As one of the highest ranking AAPI members in the Obama Administration and the second Asian American to hold the title of Deputy Secretary in a Presidential Cabinet, Chris Lu has always demonstrated the importance of diversity and representation in our government. I am ecstatic that he will now be representing the U.S. globally in his new role.”
