CAPAC Chair Statement on House Passage of Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and Rule for Build Back Better Act

November 8, 2021

Washington, D.C. — Yesterday, the House of Representatives voted to pass the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and the rule for the Build Back Better Act. CAPAC Chair Rep. Judy Chu (CA-27) issued the following statement:

“I’m proud that last night, we voted to provide tangible investments for AAPI communities in the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, including expanding broadband access to close the digital divide and supporting AAPI small businesses through the codification of the Department of Commerce’s Minority Business Development Agency.

We also took another step closer to passing the Build Back Better Act. This bill, which will provide relief for millions of AAPI immigrants, and make key investments in affordable quality childcare and paid leave, will be transformative for AAPI families across the country, and I look forward to working with my fellow CAPAC members to pass it in the coming weeks.”
