Washington, D.C. — Today, President Biden nominated Judge John Z. Lee to serve on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Upon confirmation, Judge Lee would be the first Asian American appellate judge on the Seventh Circuit. CAPAC Chair Rep. Judy Chu (CA-27) issued the following statement:
“I am so pleased to congratulate Judge Lee on his nomination to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Not only does he have a decade of experience on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, but Judge Lee has been a dedicated member of the community, providing legal services to those in need. I am glad that President Biden has continued his efforts to appoint diverse individuals to our courts, and I hope the Senate will act swiftly on Judge Lee’s confirmation.”
